Project overview
The New Plymouth District Court underwent a significant upgrade encompassing a full revamp of its layout, security systems, courtrooms, office space, and public areas. The project also created additional space to house all three of Taranaki's judges on site, two of whom had previously been accommodated in the neighbouring Atkinson Building.
Before renovations could begin, McKinlay Surveyors prepared a comprehensive as-built survey plan capturing the existing layout, buildings, and landscape features of the site. This survey formed the foundational reference point for the design and integration of the new infrastructure throughout the upgrade.
Project results
Our as-built survey provided the design team with an accurate and reliable record of existing site conditions, giving them the confidence to plan the upgrade effectively. By capturing all relevant building and landscape detail upfront, we helped ensure the design process could move forward without delays or costly surprises, contributing to a smooth and well-informed renovation from the outset.
