Project overview
New Plymouth District Council is modelling stormwater flows in and around Waitara to identify areas prone to flooding during severe storm events. As part of this investigation, Council required building floor level information for 700 properties identified as potentially at risk of inundation.
McKinlay Surveyors provided field surveying support to Opus International Consultants, collecting floor level data from all identified properties. The scale of the project required careful coordination and a methodical approach to ensure consistent, accurate results across a large number of individual sites.
Project results
Floor level information was successfully collected for all 700 properties, providing Council and Opus International Consultants with the data needed to progress their stormwater modelling work. The project ran smoothly thanks in large part to the cooperation of the Waitara community. We are grateful to the many residents who welcomed our team and were accommodating throughout the process. Their willingness to participate made a real difference to the success of the project.
